Urgent need for Cognos developer with .NET or CRYSTAL REPORTS

NETwith COGNOS   ( if we do not find cognos, lets get atleast  crystal reports)

 Job Description  :  

Expertise in Cognos and ASP.NET Visual Basic Web Development.  Able to hit-the-ground running. 

Assist in the implementation of the new Cognos production and test environments.  Interface with other departments, gathering requirements for potential reporting enhancements, managing ticket flow and escalation of issues, working with end-users to better understand potential issues or concerns. 

Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Analysis Server with data mining.

Help aid development initiatives by working with SQL and Infrastructure teams to provide better performing applications through the use of the application server, improved database design, and better indexing. 

Provide ASP.NET knowledge expertise for other departments.  Explore new technologies to keep moving forward and provide the best solutions for the business.

This position will function as an in-house resource, developer, troubleshooter, and support person for Cognos and ASP.NET Web support and development.

 

 Skill Set Required in Detail 

·        Cognos Power Play development with reporting and data mining, 2 years' experience preferred.

·        Good working knowledge of:

• ASP.NET programming
• Cognos, Data Mining
• Microsoft Analysis Server
• Web tools and screen development
• Visual Basic.NET
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• HTML, C-sharp, SQL, Access, SharePoint or other related products

Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills 

 

Job Details:  

·        Help maintain and support Cognos 10 production and test environment.

·        Develop Cognos reporting applications and services to support the business analyst.

·        Assist in Microsoft development.  Create new and existing ASP.NET/Visual Basic.NET web applications.

·        Participate in testing and verification of system upgrades and fixes.

·        Help with other business system-related activities and general IT user support functions as required.

·         Help aid development initiatives.

·         Work with SQL and Infrastructure teams to provide better performing applications through the utilization of application server, improved database design, and better indexing.
