Position:  SQL DBA

Location: Connecticut

Duration: 3+ Months

 

 

Preferrably with large corporation experience.

 

Application Migration Specialist –

SQL Server The consultant will be primarily responsible for:

a) Installing SQL Server 2005/2008 database in the new data center.

b) Migrating current database schemas to the new environment for about 15 to 30 applications.

 

There are multiple database versions in the source environment. SQL Server source database versions include 2005/2008. Database/schema upgrade may be required as part of the migration. Support may be required post upgrade/migration. Programming experience is optional.

 

 Job Responsibilities:

Participate and lead application migrations and upgrades. Install/migrate/upgrade SQL Server database and schemas into a physical and/or Virtual Machine environment. Work closely with delivery partners to install, migrate, configure, deploy and operate datacenter environments to support business application architectures. Provide guidance with technical best practices, concepts, and technologies for deploying applications. Able to work on complex business problems and help implement next generation data center solutions. Participate in developing and delivering on strategic initiatives for the services team. Assist the team in the prioritization and development of key activities, tools and technical implementation programs Develop and nurture strong customer relationships with the data center design, operations and support personnel. Other Consulting skills required: Experience with enterprise applications, solutions and data center infrastructures. Strong customer-interaction skills and architectural skills Strong written, verbal and white board skills Ability to quickly establish credibility and excitement with data center personnel, as well as work collaboratively with technical professionals. Proven ability to document appropriate technical information to serve as base for training, technical operations run books.

Position:   Oracle DBA

Location:  Connecticut

Duration:  3+ Months

b) Migrating current database schemas to the new environment for about 15 to 30 applications.

 

There are multiple database versions in the source environment. Oracle source database versions include - Oracle version is 8i, 9i, and 10g. Database/schema upgrade may be required as part of the migration. Support may be required post upgrade/migration. Programming experience is optional.
