JOB SUMMARY:
- Under general supervision, coordinates and administers matters related to relational databases, including database documentation, upgrades, operational guidelines and protection.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform schema management, database configuration, space management, performance tuning and optimization
- Create database queries, indexes and stored procedures with a high degree of complexity. Assist and educate staff members on the creation of these procedures.
- Monitor and tune databases to ensure system availability.
- Monitors database and system storage space.
- Provides initial problem determination and data collection.
- Maintain documentation of team standards, guideline and best practices.
- Maintain Oracle & PostgreSQL RDBMS software installations on Linux platforms
- Mentor junior DBA staff members
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree, 8 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination education and relevant work experience.
- Oracle Certified Professional certification (or currently pursuing certification)
- Strong SQL command knowledge
- Strong architectual knowledge of Oracle 10g / 11g
- Solid experience with Oracle ASM, Data Guard, RAC
- Advanced programming skills in Shell Scripting and PL / SQL
- 5 years DBA experience
- 5 years working knowledge of Oracle
- Developed ability to identify and resolve database related issues
- Developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Developed professional demeanor and customer-focused orientation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
