Position         : Sr.Design Engineer- SOA/.NET/C#

Duration       :  12+ months

Location        :  Chevy Chase , MD 

 

Description of Work or Project:

The Policy Systems Modernization team seeks a highly motivated Senior Design Engineer to join our application development team. The candidate will work with other Senior Designers and Architects (including GEICO and vendor representatives) as well as developers within the Applications and Infrastructure teams to establish an overall design and devise solutions that benefit the organization from a technical and business vision standpoint. Responsibilities may include both applications and infrastructure design.

 

 

Required Skills (with years for experience):

An in-depth understanding of OO and SOA principals and design patterns with extensive architecture and design experience in a large scale web environment is required. Must have a proven track record of creating and driving successful solutions to complex technical issues. Familiarity with REST service design and iterative software development methodologies required. Experience in the designer or architect role using the Microsoft .NET platform, familiarity with Windows Communication Foundation, C#, Team Foundation Server, and/or Visual Studio 2010 is a plus. Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. The ideal
