Project Description:

Operational Support for AT&T Cloud operations

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the stability and supportability of AT&T cloud solutions.

Candidate will be a member of an integrated operations team to launch and support cloud environment

Candidate will provide technical support to the cloud computing platform customers Candidate will directly interface with customers, systems engineers and sales team.

CUSTOMER FACING ASSIGNMENT

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for the support of the customer issues related to the could computing environment specifically troubleshooting of virtual machines and Windows Server guest OS

Provide 1 level technical support to the virtual and cloud environment to include but not limited to VMware vCenter, ESX server, virtual machines, HP blade servers and guest OS

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Serve as 1st level support to the cloud computing platform infrastructure • Provide technical support to cloud computing customers.

• Ability to provide documentation related to customer issues

• Ability to track and close tickets in a queue

• Develop guidelines for systems monitoring to ensure maximum availability, uptime, and performance.

• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues and outages.

• Ensure documentation standards are created and adhered to.

• Ensure that security procedures are implemented and enforced.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical applications.

• Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.

• Support of web portals, orchestration, platform, application, API, network and monitoring needs. Platform support (monitoring capabilities, performance tuning, capacity planning, and maintaining overall service and platform health).

• Validating and supporting new cloud solutions. This involves UAT, ORT testing and driving operational requirements. Outputs include Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Execution, Production Verification, Developer and Administrative Portals,

• Maintaining overall platform stability, security, and supportability

• Participate in operational and testing as require

• Providing technical mentoring to peers and partner organizations

• Developing and maintaining all technical documentation related to the cloud solutions and applications (SMOPs/MOPs, System documentation, troubleshooting guides, customer-specific knowledge base, etc)

• Overall customer relationship management

 

TO BE CONSIDERED QUALFIED FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT SUBMITTED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

 

• 3+ years providing operational support in a virtualization environment

MCITP + Security (required)

• Expert Knowledge in Microsoft Window Server OS

Experience troubleshooting VMware ESX/ESX 4.1 and vCenter issues

Experience troubleshooting VM issues as it relate to guest OS

Experience with HP blade servers

• •Expert knowledge of Windows server class operating systems, Red hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server and client technologies

• Expert knowledge of system and network management tool concepts

• Excellent knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, PXE, NAT and network related technologies such as LAN/WAN topologies, transports and routing.

• Excellent Communication Skills

• Please ensure that all candidates know that this is a 24X7 assignment and FLEXIBILITY is required.

 

Desired Skills:

• Red Hat Linux Operating Systems

• Knowledge of network management protocols.

• Knowledge of Unix, xml/web protocols, publish/subscribe technologies, or n-tier web-based distributed systems and localization issues, and their use in a massively scalable environment.

• Knowledge of wireline and wireless network architecture.

• Solid experience supporting Agile and iterative methodologies.

• 5+ years of practical application & API deployment and support experience with large scale service architecture.

• Strong working knowledge of Network Protocols TCP/IP, RDP, TELNET, FTP

 

We would like to have both MCITP-SECURITY AND VCP but that combination may be difficulty to find. WE MUST HAVE MCITP and if they don't have VCP certifications they should have some background in VCP.
