Global Fault Management for IP based services

 

Job Description:

This System development & test position requires advanced knowledge in all aspects of Network Management systems for multiple AT&T service offerings and multiple disciplines of Network Management Systems.

 

Selected candidate will work with systems engineers to develop and test network management subsystems functionality and resolve defects uncovered during their testing. Responsibilities include some or all of the following: establishing development and test plans, development and integration test for new functionality to be included in the upcoming release, integration of internally developed and vendor software, integration test support, installations and deployments, and end-to-end system and performance testing. Previous experience in working with large networked applications and understanding their development complexities is a must. Candidates should have a strong background in event correlation and IP networking. The position also requires understanding of the inter-operability between various AT&T EMSs such as, AOTS, GCP, LPP, PMOSS & RUBY, also knowledge of EMC- SMARTS product suite including In-Charge is essential.

 

Candidates should have a strong background in event correlation and IP network

Development and testing methodologies, Network Management Systems, and experience with the following products / technologies: EMC-SMARTS product suite, HP Openview (NNM &OVO), UNIX (Sun & HP), XML, C++, JAVA etc.., SNMP, MIB/traps, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM, hubs, switches, gateways, routers, Optical Networks, CiscoWorks, Secure Shell, Java, PERL, BMC Patrol, Check Point Firewall, MIMIC, and NIS+. Knowledge of Oracle / SQL and SCME a plus.

 

The candidate must have:

• At least 5 years of relevant development and Test experience in order to begin contributing immediately

• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. The position requires significant interaction and coordination with systems engineers, peer developers and system testers, and working in a fast paced environment.

• extremely strong initiative and availability on an escalation basis to support the project team and production.
