Title: Sr. Linux Engineer
Location: Midtown NYC….
Duration: 6 months+
Interview Type: Telephonic followed by In person
Candidate MUST be Certified Linux Engineer
Description:
This resource will work on all compliance-related initiatives for systems engineering and will also act as an additional senior resource to the team. There are 700 Linux production servers, and 200 windows servers, all of which need to be brought up to State Street security standards.
This resource will participate in architecting new systems and storage, performance tuning, security and compliances, and leading other engineers. Example projects may include: - Tier 1 HP 3Par storage design, rollout, and support - Latency reduction by implementing kernel by pass with vendor Mellanox and Solarflare - Next generation CPU (Intel's Sandybridge or AMD's Bulldozer) evaluation and benchmark - SAN switches migration and standardization with Cisco MDS 9148 - Deployment of IBM's XCAT - Migration of LDAP and DNS domain to eExhange.com - Evaluating and deployment of XFS - Monitor systems with Nagios, HP SIM, and IBM Systems Director - Deploy enterprise backup solution - NAS gateway evaluation and deployment
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years overall with at least 4+ years as Red Hat Enterprise Linux ENGINEER (not looking for Admins or general Solaris/HP-UX/AIX/Linux types)
- Experience architecting new systems and storage, performance tuning and security
- Strong preference for Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) - Storage Area Network (SAN) experience
- Strong preference for Red Hat Certified Engineer
- Applicant must meet ALL of these requirements.
- Contractor chosen will be required to pass credit background check - no credit delinquencies, no bankruptcies... Also will undergo background check for employment verification, criminal and education
