Sr QA tester ( developer level )

 

·         Chicago

·         6 months +

·        Face to face interview after phone screen

 

Develops, publishes, and implements test plans. Writes and maintains test automation. Develops quality assurance standards. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.   Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience testing in C, C++, Java. Must have a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies. Familiar with NT, UNIX and/or Solaris environments. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Detailed requirements

 

Skills used on the project include: Java, SQL, Python, Red Hat Linux, DBMS, and Oracle SQL.

Qualifications include:
• Testing skills including test approach and test case preparation, execution, result analysis, recommendations and reporting
• Advanced level of SQL required. Ability to load data, extract data, write complex SQL queries and manipulate data required
• Experience automating scripts and creating automated testing frameworks required (PL/SQL and Python preferred, but Perl is helpful also)
• Ability to read and understand Java code and XML
• Minimum of 2 years of Unix scripting languages experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an Agile environment preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking ability.
