Urgent need for COGNOS Planning consultant

 

Duration: 6 Months

Location: LA, CA

 

Description:

The Senior Planning Developer will play a thought leader role as well as a go-to resource for complex Financial Planning solutions. The role will have a variety of functions including solutions architecting, development, and support & maintenance.

Required:

• 5-10 years of proven experience with Cognos Enterprise Planning (substantial experience in EP8.3)

• Built & administer models in the area of: Revenue, P&L, Cash flow, Balance sheet,Direct Expense, Allocation/Chargebacks

• Proven experience translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications

• Proven experience of providing thought-leadership in the areas of overall solution design

• Ability to quickly understand the impact to structure and dimension changes from one model to another

• Ability to follow and trace data, data links, and business logic in and between complex models

• Successfully support a financial close and budget/forecasting processes

• Proven success supporting finance users in a high volume/fast pace environments

• Strong SQL query skills

 

Desired:

• Knowledge of integration with ETL (Informatica) and reporting will be an advantage

• Experience with EP application administration, configuration, tuning, and security

• Experience with EP environment upgrades and migrations

• Experience with TM1

• Exceptional Communication skills – written and oral - Ability to debate issues - Suggest best practices - Communicate with all levels of people - Translate functional to technical - Complete detailed documents and presentations - Converse well but also listen

• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in leadership and project delivery

• Must be punctual and purposeful

• Experience and knowledge of the Finance & Accounting principles is beneficial

• Experience and knowledge of the Entertainment Industry is beneficial
