• ORGANIZE AND PREPARE WORK EFFECTIVELY TO FACILITATE PROACTIVE
RESOLUTION OF PROBLEMS.
• ANTICIPATE AND RESOLVE ISSUES ON A TIMELY BASIS.
• COMMUNICATE ACCURATE AND USEFUL STATUS AS APPROPRIATE.
• DEMONSTRATE AND PROMOTE A FOCUS ON CLIENT SERVICE.

Short Description:
Select person will assist DVI in assessing DVI clients Assistive
technology needs to obtain, retain or advance employment. This is
primarily geared to meet the client's technology needs that will
include software and hardware.
Complete Description:
• This position is for an on-call, as-needed basis. This
contractor would be expected to respond to internal and external
customers of the State of DE to analyze and gather requirements.

• The process of requirements gathering and solutions assessment
is focused on Assistive Technologies for the physically impaired with
emphasis on visually impaired clients.

• A customer (i.e. business, educational institution, etc) may
have the need to purchase or integrate technology that will allow
current or newly disabled employees or prospective employees work in a
certain environment. An example of this technology could be using site/
systems readers that provide electronic reading of computer systems/
screens.

• This contractor would provide possible suggestions, based on
the present available market technologies, on what could be
appropriately integrated for successful implementation.

• The current technologies primarily used by the division are
Zoom Text and Jaws

• Years of Relevant Experience: 7 plus years total experience; 5
plus years in software development and testing.

Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical
study
Role Description:
All roles specified in SPS2 plus the following:
• Organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive
resolution of problems.
• Anticipate and resolve issues on a timely basis.
• Communicate accurate and useful status as appropriate.
• Demonstrate and promote a focus on client service.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers as appropriate.
• Work with internal customers and others to identify direction
of software process.
• Identify knowledge in a form that is reusable.

This is a position that will yield (on average) about 3+ (three) hours
per week.
