Job Description:
1. Gathers and documents the detailed business requirements in form of a traceable, testable and verifiable format
2. Applies use cases to fully ascertain the functionality of the system changes.
3. Guides the business to make the appropriate decisions to reach a positive impact to the technology solution
4. Develop and execute system test plans.
5. Define workflow for all assigned projects.
6. Maps business processes and helps to define QA tests with the Quality Assurance team.
7. Make appropriate business decisions that carry the project forward to completion and elevate any concerns of delay to management when necessary.
8. Work closely with all IT Managers involved with the project.
9. Works closely with the business users in identifying business rules to aid in the functional specifications of tasks so that the IT Designers and Developers are able to create programs that fulfill all business expectations.
10. Exposure to Business Requirements modeling techniques including Unified Modeling Language (UML), ) and service modeling
11. Knowledge of integrated business process modeling for operations procedures, including process improvements and efficiencies
12. Familiar with BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) or Business Process Modeling Language
13. Knowledge of how to retrofit traditional applications projects to support an SOA approach to implementation
14. Works closely with the IT PMO manager to prioritize and coordinate individual project tasks and assess time sensitive constraints on development tasks.
15. Alerts the IT PMO manager when Customer Support Requests may impact any project currently in the development or deployment process.
16. Monitor scope creep and "Change Requests" to avoid losing control of project.
17. Develop reports to communicate schedules, issues, risks and project changes to project stakeholders and project manager.
18. Liaison between the business and the developers as they begin coding and testing the functional changes within the code.
19. Provide the necessary documentation in a project - I.e. statement of work, business requirements, use cases, functional specifications, and documentation for business training materials.
20. Research best practices for business analysis and suggest improvement opportunities for the team
21. Ability to perform business analysis tasks on multiple projects.
22. Extensive use of the system development life cycle.
23. Resolves business problems.
24. Possesses strong knowledge of the business and applications that support them.
25. Provides mentoring to other business analysts.
26. Attends to other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 -8 years BA experience
•Active member or certification in IIBA is desirable
•Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) a high benefit
•Analyzes business processes/functions
•Gathers detailed business requirements
•Accurately documents business requirements/functions
•Demonstrates very strong communication skills (written and verbal)
•Demonstrates strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
•Interacts well with business users/technical team/project managers/senior management/vendors
•Acts as a liaison between developer and business user
•Demonstrates ability to resolve problems
•Is very detail oriented
•Has extensive experience working under a structured SDLC
•Has experience with Use Case design/analysis/specifications
•Demonstrates knowledge of UML Modeling
•Working within a SOA environment and SOA governance model
• Exposure to Business Process Analysis( Process Service Matrix) and Mapping with SOA
•Develops and executes system test plans
•Analyzes and documents system defects
•Demonstrates the ability to effectively multitask
•Has a history of successful customer relationship and satisfaction experience
•Is client-focused
