Looking for someone with a strong ASP.NET and MVC experience

 

Project Description: Because of many reasons including performance, maintainability and new features our client is rewriting the application code for their core product. The current code base is in Cold Fusion and some .Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0. The new products will be written in ASP.Net 4.0 with MVC on top of an SOA architecture that is .Net and WCF (Windows Communication Foundation). The role will be more focused on the Front End UI.

                       

Consultant's Day to day responsibilities

· Using ASP.Net, C#, MVC Convert current code base from Cold Fusion and old .net to .Net 4.0

· Features:

o Build a new template maker for automated emails and webpage layouts

o Write code that will manage contacts from different client groups

o Write code that allows users to publish content or sets of content from things like SMS, Facebook, Twitter, emails, webpages

o Code many new features that you would find in any CRM or CMS system

· Must have experience coding on the backend of the application even though this is front end focused.

· The middle tier is SOA / .Net / WCF and you will work with those developers as they build services for layouts, accts, distribution etc plus many other new functionality

 

Biggest Technical Challenge the consultant will face:

Rewriting old code to new ASP.Net in a OO environment using things like inheritance, encapsulation, inversion control design patterns…

 

Required background to do the job:

· Experience converting old application code to new ASP.Net application code

· ASP.Net 4.0, C#, MVC

· Strong OO background

o Comfortable with Inheritance, Encapsulation, Design Patterns etc

· Some experience coding in SOA environment with .Net and preferably WCF

· Can read cold fusion
