Position: Business Analyst IT Ops
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 12+ Months
SKILLS REQUIRED: ITIL V3 Certificates, Six Sigma Green Belt, CoBIT foundation
JOB SUMMARY |
The IT Ops Business Analyst functions as integrator between business needs and technology solutions. This person is responsible for providing the interface between IT leadership and key business stakeholders to ensure the success of IT business initiatives. The IT Ops Business Analyst utilizes their analytical skills as well as understanding of IT and project management to identify risks and benefits of key business projects.
This position is required to resolve complex issues and continuously improve processes within IT Operations. This individual will work closely with the IT Leadership team to provide analysis, benchmarking and research to ensure proper optimization of IT Operations and business initiatives.
The IT Ops Business Analyst should be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the information technology and rely on expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This person performs a variety of tasks and works under general supervision. An extensive degree of creativity and latitude is required. This position will report directly to the VP of IT Operations.
- Proactively work with IT Leadership team to identify process improvement opportunities
- Participate in efforts to ensure IT Operations complies with best practice standards and established methodologies
- Conduct analysis and benchmarking for key initiatives and advise IT Leadership on key benefits, risks and industry best practices
- Assist the IT Leadership team with implementing key processes for IT Operational support and stabilization
- Partner with business stakeholders to provide technical guidance based on business requirements and IT Operations capabilities and services
- Proactively work with business unit representatives to clarify business IT initiatives and IT Operations requirements
- Recommend process improvements that reduce costs or improve the quality of IT Operations services
- Partner with project managers for IT Operations initiatives for business case development, reporting and analysis
- Perform requirements analysis across the lifecycle of a project including the translation of business requirements into specifications and providing recommended solutions and alternatives

- Technically competent of IT processes, standards, methodologies and technologies
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong functional background of IT and business processes
- Excellent computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills (written/verbal), organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Maintains a positive, achievement-oriented attitude
- Demonstrates initiative and innovation in achieving results
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service
- Proven ability to perform well and with a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Required Education / Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
Preferred Education / Experience
- 2-5 years experience in IT and business process improvement, project management and business analysis
