Role: Java Application Developer/Support Specialist
Duration: 6+ months
Location: Quincy, MA
Start Date - 4/2/2012

Job Summary/Description:

Work on a team of technical professionals to implement next generation software solutions. Rapidly learn new applications and support them. Diagnose complex software problems. Navigate and excel within multiple technologies, languages, environments, applications, and teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated developer that has designed, developed, debugged, and promoted high-quality applications into production environments.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Design, implement, enhance, support new software using many tools and technologies
• ·         Learn new applications rapidly, adapt to enhance and support them
• ·         Solve problems on complex systems
• ·         Participate in analysis activities such as producing use cases or a business object model
• ·         Develop software that conforms to a design model within its constraints
• ·         Validate the implementation for conformance to the design
• ·         Develop and execute unit test programs to ensure correctness of the implementation
• ·         Performance tuning of specific software components
• ·         Follow established development standards and code style guidelines
• ·         Work in compliance with configuration management rules and guidelines
• ·         Participate in UI design reviews with the customer
• ·         Communicate the status of development progress
• ·         Mentor junior staff

Required Skills:

• ·         Mandatory experience in coding Oracle Apex user interfaces, Oracle PL/SQL, and Javascript
• ·         Oracle PL/SQL ****Oracle APEX - Application Express
• ·         Web development experience: HTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON
• ·         Strong JavaScript experience, JS framework like ExtJS.
• ·         Java design and development (J2EE, XML, XSLT, JMS, JDBC, Struts, Spring or similar)
• ·         Exposure to XML, XSLT, XSD experience using JAVA libraries
• ·         Experience with test driven development (using JUNIT, JMETER, or similar)
• ·         Experience with Web Services / SOA environment
• ·         Linux shell scripting
• ·         Experience with Linux OS / UNIX OS

Desired Skills

• ·         Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodology
• ·         Experience in a continuous build environment (ANT/MAVEN)
• ·         Tibco active matrix
• ·         Health Insurance experience
• ·         Drools
• ·         Experience with an application server such as JBoss
• ·         Java IDE (preferred is Eclipse)
• ·         Spring
• ·         Apache, Apache Tomcat Application Server
• ·         Ant build tool

Education:

Minimum Education BS - Computer Science or equivalent experience.
