Job description:

Project: Siebel 8 Upgrade / Oracle 11g Upgrade

Key Skill sets: Siebel 8, Oracle 11gR2, RMAN, Data Guard, ASM, GoldenGate

Summary of Responsibilities:

Supports Database/Application Migrations of Siebel to version 8 + an Oracle 10g to 11g upgrade. Supports application teams with Siebel application install/upgrade and associated database structure changes. Installs, upgrades, maintains, monitors, and optimizes production and non-production databases (Oracle). Installs, upgrades, maintains, monitors, and optimizes GoldenGate TDM, GoldenGate Veridata, and GoldenGate Director to support "near-real-time" data replication.

Essential Job Function:

• Perform database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning

• Perform backup/recovery

• Perform database ILM and partition maintenance

• Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost

• Manages allocated disk space usage and memory allocations for database management systems

• Manages schema changes and implementations

• Administers database security

• Performs housekeeping on defunct user accounts and historical data

• Install and maintain database products, including patch application and upgrade of environments

• Administers Oracle Data Guard and Oracle ASM environments

• Creates/Maintains DBA PERL/SHELL/PLSQL scripts

• Troubleshoots and develops solutions for problems related to database and interfaces

• Coordinates with software vendor technical support

• Develops and executes back-up and recovery procedures

• Performs periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan

• Works closely with application and system administration and vendors to coordinate activities, resolve development and maintenance issues, and perform application tuning

• Audits user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the database

• Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for database administration

• Coordinates and implement changes to development, test, and production environments

• Implements and maintains multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling

• Develops and maintains proficient database development and design skills

• Performs GoldenGate replication monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning

• Performs backup and recovery of GoldenGate replication

• Administers GoldenGate replication security

• Install and maintain GoldenGate products, including patch application and upgrade of the environments

• Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for GoldenGate replication administration

• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• B.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (4 year degree - MS preferred). An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.

• 3+ years in Oracle Siebel

• 5+ years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible information technology work experience with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment

• 5+ years in Oracle Data Guard

• 5+ years in Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)

• 5+ years of a strong basic technical background based in Information Technology (IT) organizations.

• 3+ years with multi-terabyte databases and associated structures

• 3+ year direct, hands-on experience with SQL/PLSQL

• 1+ years in a leadership or senior level position mentoring Jr. - Sr. level DBAs

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

• Ability to communicate to executive level management

• Experience working with formal methodologies and software development lifecycle processes

• Experience in both a UNIX and Windows based environment

Energy industry experience or financial / telecommunications background preferred
