Position: Software Engineer
Location: downtown Chicago,IL
Duration:6 months
We are looking for highly skilled software engineers to work on our next generation 3D visual mapping technology that enables location-based 3D virtual and mixed reality applications. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an energetic and dedicated team, develop scalable parallel cluster based content processing pipeline for a large petabyte scale data product serving 3D virtual worlds and mixed reality data as webservice, and work on cutting edge technology that captures the earth in 3D.
This candidate must have background in Parallel Computing, Scientific Computing, Trading/Finance data capture or high frequency, Telecom, or other fields.
Skills used on the project are Java, C++, Python, Red Hat Linux, Oracle SQL, STL, parallel/cluster development, server data processing automation, 5+ of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years of C++ development.
We are looking for a candidate with the following skill set:
- Java (or C#)
- C++
- Python (or Perl or Ruby or PHP or equivalent)
- Linux (or equivalent) development experience
- SQL experience
- Network (TCP/IP, UDP) experience
- Parallel programming with threads and processes
- Experience with datastructures and algorithms
- Experience with continuous integration, deployment procedures, test driven development
- Knowledge of GIS a bonus (can be learned on the job).
- 5+ of professional software development experience (or with demonstrable personal projects if less than 5)
