Project Description:
The Database Manager (DBM) will be responsible for oversight and administration of the Learning Services databases. This includes the integrity of the databases and the data within, the performance of the database and all related components, and the security to the database and related components.
Job Description:
This is a database administrative role for production, testing, and development environments.
Thus, prior experience developing, enforcing, and following code standards including version control, naming conventions, and other best practices will be required. One will need demonstrated experience with overall database performance in large scale implementations-this includes monitoring and tuning of table structure, queries, stored procedures, etc.
One will need knowledge and prior experience with SSIS and SSRS - Including the development of new solutions and the management of existing solutions. Ability to work as a collaborative team in order to accomplish critical tasks and maximize the use of all available resources is necessary. One will need prior experience integrating data from disparate data sources and platforms and experience working with end users in order to create new solutions and to resolve issues with existing solutions. This person will need to be rotating 24x7 on-call support of databases. Also experience with automation of repetitive tasks is required. Finally the person will need experience with Database Security and Administration and backup and Recovery.
