Title : Linux Administrator

Duration: 6 months +
division seeks a Linux Systems Admin to join our team. We are seeking well rounded candidates who have a background in supporting and administering enterprise systems and application environments. In this unique opportunity you will be responsible for maintaining our production stacks as well as working with our development teams in building systems to support new application development. You will play an integral part in keeping our production environments running as well as on special projects that involve major upgrades and application implementation.
The person will be responsible for installation, configuration, and maintainance of various application servers. Review & schedule implementation plans and coordinate changes in the various environments.
Position Attributes
Must have worked on various Unix and Linux operating systems and understand performance tuning of the OS and applications that run on these platforms
Work with operations team for proper installation/configuration/documentation of the product in various environments.
Perform upgrades and patching of existing applications.
Contact for the resolution of issues impacting application availability.
Collaborate with remote based teams to ensure proper hand-off of the work, documentation
Extensive knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux Operation System
Experience in Installing and managing enterprise class applications on J2EE platforms
Extensive knowledge of application servers like Tomcat and enterprise web servers like IIS, Apache
Position Requirements
Assist Application teams with day to day operational tasks
Help team to run Proof of Concept and Testing of new technologies
Meet the SLAs defined for the service areas and keep the systems up and running for 24/7/365 with optimal performance
