Position: VMware Consultant

Location: NYC (NY), Philly (PA), Washington DC

Duration: 6+ Months

SRM and Migration Requirement Gathering and Analysis. CONTRACTORS will analyze each datacenter and determine the recommended setup, configuration, hardware and bandwidth for the eleven (11) sites and produce a report on the proposed architecture to accommodate migrations. CONTRACTORS may determine that sites may qualify for alternative methods besides using SRM (i.e. using FTP\SCP, vSphere functionality, etc..) based on VM counts and make recommendations to CGSH on the architecture.

During this phase, CONTRACTOR will build out a functioning SRM environment to accommodate migrations of the existing virtual machines to the new datacenter. This may include installing vSphere and SRM on new or repurposed hardware. CONTRACTOR will build, deploy and test that the migration environment is working and provide estimates on capacity throughput to determine the optimum number of concurrent migrations to schedule. It is important to note that CGSH is responsible for all the infrastructure work associated with installing, configuring, and implementing SRM. CONTRACTOR resources are only responsible for the VMware SRM Software components.

CONTRACTORS is not responsible for the setup and configuration of any storage based replication in this SOW. CONTRACTORS will assist with network based replication configuration of SRM 5.0 if determined necessary to complete migrations and mutually agreed upon by CGSH and CONTRACTORS. In the event that a datacenter does not have enough virtual machines to warrant setting up SRM to perform migrations, CONTRACTOR will recommend alternative solutions.

The Premium VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager Plan and Design service will provide CGSH with a logical architectural design for VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager. CONTRACTORS will be conducting 3 separate designs for the three locations – United States, Europe and Asia. This design is for the final production SRM environment at each location.

The activities for this engagement are organized in phases as follows:
1. Project Planning
2. Engagement Kick-Off
3. Design Enablement Knowledge Transfer Session
4. Requirements Gathering Activities
5. Detailed Design Sessions and Deliverables Creation
6. Presentation of Deliverables
7. Project Wrap-up Project Planning

CONTRACTORS will work to assist in the preparation of a project plan for creating an architectural design for VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager. The project plan identifies:

• Timelines for project activities

• Milestones for key deliverables
