Application Engineer - Technical Lead

Location: Beaverton, OR

Duration: 12 months

 

OVERVIEW:

As our Lead Application Engineers supporting Consumer Digital Technology, you will bring a broad experience of successfully ideating and delivering value that enables us to increase productivity, realize efficiencies and build profitable customer experiences. Interest and experience in the latest methodologies goes a long way here and we're looking for people who are passionate about the world of value-driven solution delivery as you'll be working on the front end development of commerce and brand consumer-facing websites. You'll get to work alongside truly talented teams and external agencies and help them enhance their performance by promoting collaboration and innovation.

 

REQUIRED:

5+ years Technical Lead experience

6 Years Java, JSP, GWT

5 Years Agency Experience

5 Years Spring, JMS, XML, JUnit

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject area

6 years of professional experience in IT or business

2 years of additional relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree

Proven track record of successfully leading teams of 3 to 8 developers with experience in delegating work and motivating team

5 years experience developing object oriented, web-based consumer applications in a Java/J2EE 3-tier environment

Experience working as a technical Lead on multiple projects and business functions, in both large (1-year+ projects) and small projects ( >3 months)

Diverse experience in utilizing either a wide array of Java tools business, Web Front End, and client-server environments including Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Enterprise Java Bean (EJB), JavaServer Pages (JSP), Javascript, JFC/Swing MVC, JQuery and Java database Connectivity (JDBC) technologies, SOAP/REST Web Services, GWT (Google Web Toolkit) a plus

Technically capable with maximizing build quality and simplifying the build process through use of integration tools (ie. JUNIT, Ant, Maven, etc.)

Experience with relational databases and SQL is required

Experience estimating work, planning, organization, and implementing complex Java software projects

Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how IT needs to support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within work group

Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting)

Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams

Ability to pass a 7 year background investigation

 

PREFERRED:

High volume direct consumer application experience is a plus

JBOSS and/or Oracle experience highly desired

System integration experience highly desired

Lean experience with applied principles and methods preferred

Multiple years of SCRUM/XP development experience strongly preferred
