SUMMARY:
The Program Manager - Agile will be responsible for ensuring overall business objectives for adopting and advancing agile are met. Providing organizational support for resources making the transition as well as help established teams continuously improve in their efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide hands-on guidance and training to individual teams and programs on technical practices and all aspects of Agile/Lean, including planning and estimation, daily meetings, team collaboration, tracking progress, and retrospectives
• Enlist support and supporters across the firm; become an enthusiastic 'Face of Agile' representing the Agile Working Group (AWG)
• Provide coaching and training to product owners, program managers, testers, developers and functional managers on the Agile/Lean product development processes
• Provide mentoring to teams on best practices for code quality, use of simple design constructs, and proper application of engineering principles, along with planning, execution and release management
• Develop key strategies to scale Agile/Lean and move to higher maturity levels
• Evaluate and select consultants and industry experts for skill development, coaching and training support
• Demonstrate business results and help make results visible
• Support existing agile projects, remove blocking issues and help teams be successful
• Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation
• Mentor team members on agile software development principles and practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical (BS) or business related field (BA)
• 2 years minimum prior experience with Agile/Lean coaching preferred
• 3+ years of advanced software development management and/or project management experience
• Proficient in engineering practices that compliment Agile/Scrum such as, but not exclusive of, Test Driven Development (TDD), Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD), Pair Programming, Collaborative Development, Automated Testing tools
• Experience with Agile Development, Scrum Project Management, Lean Principles, Product Owner best practices, preferably at scale in larger organizations
• Expertise in working effectively with distributed teams
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to team development; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment
• Ability to adapt, to be flexible, and to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
• Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with technical team members as well as functional managers
