Title Role: Cisco System Engineer

Location: Newyork City, NY

Duration: 6 months+

Interview Type: face-to-face required fallows telephonic round.

Description:

The client is looking for System Engineer for 6 months plus contract in Newyork, NY. This  a Major Microsoft infrastructure upgrade. The ideal consultant must meet ALL of these requirements.

·         Participation in team meetings

·         Review of project deployment plans

o   Network audit

o   Specify service and equipment requirements

o   Provide network address and design specs

o   Generate implementation plan

o   Implementation plan / engineering

o   Participate in Go / No-go decision

o   Creation of back-out procedure

·         Deployments Plans

o   Create Network Design Documents and configuration scripts

o   Receipt of equipment and verification as per spec

o   Equipment configuration and shipment to target site

o   Equipment and network testing inclusive of issue resolution and re-test

o   Creation of appropriate change requests

o   Implementation and cutover

o   Issues resolution

o   Production support

·         Decommissioning of legacy networks

·         Handover to Network Operations

Minimum Requirements:

·         5-7 years' experience supporting technology infrastructures, server-based services and directory services within a multi-site WAN environment

·         Solid experience of routing protocols with heavy experience using EIGRP, BGP, OSPF

·         Experience in configuring Cisco Routers, Switches and firewalls in an enterprise environment

·         Knowledge of VPN technologies including IPSEC

·         Experience configuring core LAN switches such as Catalyst 6500s and 4500s, using Layer3 switching

·         CISCO and Microsoft Certifications highly desirable

·         Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

·         Desire to learn new skills and technology

·         Excellent problem solving skills

·         Team-player

·         Strong technical documentation skills

·         Ability to draft designs in Visio

·         Able to take direction from the corporate engineering team

·         Willing and able to perform knowledge transfer

·         Willing and able to adhere to ITIL-related processes and procedures for installation/deployment/configuration and change/resolution management
