Tier 1 E2E System Engineer

Tier1 systems engineers work to put together the end-to-end process and system flows for Sales, Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Reporting and Performance Management. This service is unique in that it is the first service being offered on a platform that submits provisioning requests for multiple sites in one order. Tier 1 SEs worked with users to define the requirements, worked with tier2/tier3 systems engineers and developers to define the end-to-end flows to support Sales/Contracting, Ordering, Provisioning, Maintenance, Reporting, external user interfaces, system test, and User Acceptance Test. Tier 1 SE's also work on detailed requirements and interface requirements between applications.

 

Tier1 systems engineers have worked with Product Management, Sales users, Service Delivery users, Service Assurance users, network architects, CPE architects, system architects, third-party vendors, systems engineers for the SD, SA and Billing applications, developers, program/project managers, and testers to define the UC Service.

 

• Customer driven, can negotiate business expectations and business needs/scope with product and BPE's

• Excellent knowledge of Systems Architecture –with special emphasis on hand offs and interface and field details

• Excellent knowledge of systems flow from Sales – to ordering and provisioning – to Service Assurance to Billing and Recording in the UC environment

• Excellent in-depth knowledge of the user processes and flows and any work around that exists today

• Excellent knowledge of all UC based systems involved, including their similarities or differences with systems from other products (BVoIP for example)

• Rapport with Tier 2 and Tier 3 folks, to be able to tap into resources in a timely fashion if needed

• Customer centric – can work with product to understand the CI and other needs and traffic volume needs

• Likes technical challenge and rigor and can think out of the box for quick solutions or short cuts

• Excellent communication skills and time optimization skills, understands criticality and can obtain win-win solutions
