Build and Release Engineer in Washington, DC

We have this below job requirement and I would like to bring to your notice.

 

We currently have a Long Term Contracting opportunity for a Build Lead Engineer with our client located in Washington, DC. 

 

JOB Details:

- Experience with all phases of a build lifecycle

- Experience with continuous integration toolsets

- Must have managed a Maven build environment

- Agile Process experience

Excellent communication skills

 

The Build Lead will

• Lead the definition of standards for packaging deployments
• Enforce uniform adoption of those standards across all development groups
• Be responsible for actual packaging/deployment in production, QA, and shared development environments
• Automate deployments
• Serve as administrator of the source code repository (SVN)
• Own the creation of builds and coordinate the creation of source-code tags and branches with development groups
• Support and help troubleshoot production and QA deployments

 

The ideal candidate will be able to offer and implement a vision of how to define and lead the build management process from development forward.

• Able to create and maintain build automation shell and Maven scripts
• Expertise building and monitoring software projects continuously with a CI tool, ideally Bamboo, but experience with other CI tools (e.g. Hudson, Cruise Control) acceptable
• Experience with Linux
• Five years' combined experience in software development, build/release engineering and software configuration management with at least two years in a build or configuration management role
• Java development experience desirable

 

Client would like someone who has experience with:

LAMP (Linux OS, Apache HTTP Server, MySQL (DB Software) PHP (Python Perl)

Good Scripting skills- SHELL

JAVA

RDM base, YUM

Btw, you should read up on cobbler, puppet, bamboo, and zookeeper if he wants to be impressive.
